The meaning of Da'wah

Lately i love to listen to words of wisdom or talk about Islam, about how people discover themselves and become a better Moslem. I think it is time for me to steer myself to get to know more about Islam. Being born as a Moslem is no excuse not to learn more. In fact, I am ashamed to declare that I really don't know much about Islam.

So let me share a little of what I heard in Youtube about Da'wah as explained by brother Nouman Ali Khan. I kind of like the way he explained things about Islam, the teaching of Islam. He who admitted was an atheist when he was young and then came back to believing in Allah after listening to verses from the Qur'an, and be in a company of a good Moslem brother. He who was born a Moslem in a family who are all Moslem and practice some Islamic teachings.

What did he say about "Da'wah"?

Da'wah is an invitation, an extended respect or courtesy to Islam. It is an attitude to invite someone to something beautiful such as the Deen.

So friends, if it is an invitation, that means, the way it is done surely is in a manner that is courteous, polite and full of respect with no show of aggressiveness.

That also means, it may not need as much words to draw someone into Islam. It may be suffice by potraying good attitude, manners and behaviour, being kind and sincere and honest.

He also said that, with whom you are associated with, will be a reflection of who you are. There was a hadith he quoted this saying with. This is something we must seriously ponder and think about.

With regards to this, I must say, we actually do da'wah everyday in our life, without us realizing it. And we do it in our family, with friends, neighbours and the society. Don't you think so?

Anyway, if you are interested, do watch the Deenshow.com, okay.

Have a nice day ahead!
